THE PARISH (CHURCH) IS “A HOUSE AMONG HOUSES” (Saint Pope John Paul ll).
YOUR OFFERING IS TO GOD, AND IT IS TO SUPPORT THE MISSIONARY ROLE OF THE CHURCH IN PROCLAIMING THE GOSPEL AND IN MAKING VISIBLE THE CONTINUING PRESENCE OF JESUS CHRIST, WHO IS AT WORK IN THE WORLD.

AN IMPORTANT AND SERIOUS REQUEST, PLEASE IF YOU PAY INCOME TAX, AND CANNOT REASONABLY THINK OF INCREASING YOUR PERSONAL OFFERING AT THIS TIME, AND IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY DONE SO, PLEASE PAY YOUR OFFERING BY STANDING ORDER OR THROUGH PLANNED GIVING ENVELOPES, AND SIGN A GIFT AID FORM. IT WILL COST YOU NOTHING EXTRA PERSONALLY BUT WILL AUTOMATICALLY INCREASE YOUR OFFERING TO GOD, FOR THE WORK OF HIS CHURCH, BY AN INFLATION BEATING 25%!
ONE FORM CAN HELP SERVE AND PROMOTE THE LIFE AND WORK OF THE UNIVERSAL CHURCH, AND YOUR PARISH, AND INCREASE YOUR OFFERING TO GOD, TO HIS GREATER GLORY, AT NO EXTRA COST TO YOU OR YOUR FAMILY.
WE ALL NEED GOD RIGHT NOW!
FINANCIALLY THE UNIVERSAL CHURCH, AND OUR PARISHES, ARE BOTH TAKING A HIT NOW, AND IN RECENT YEARS. ONE FORM SIGNED BY EVERY TAX PAYER CAN HELP THE CHURCH BY INCREASING THEIR PERSONAL OFFERING BY 25% AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO THE TAX PAYER.
THANK YOU.
We repeat the invitation to our first whole Parish Mass, in our newly created Parish, on Thursday 8th September The Birthday of The B.V.M. and our parish Birthday. There will be refreshments afterwards.
We will become The Parish of St Mary and St Augustine Webster, and both Churches will become a Parish Church in the new Parish.
The Diocese asked us to nominate one of the two existing current accounts to become the new account of our new parish, and the Parish and the Account will come into being on September 8th.
For simplicity’s sake we suggested they should just rebrand the one for St Marys, as it is the first part of our new Parish Title. However, we understand the new account will bear both names. We hope so.
However, in practical terms EVERY person who pays money into the St Augustine Webster Account MUST submit a new Form for all payments after September 7th. People paying into the St Mary’s account do not need to change their Standing Order as part of the switch.
We attach two versions of the new Standing Order:
1. One specifically for those who need to switch their Standing Order to the new account, and that is the Parishioners of the current Parish of St Augustine Webster.
2. Another for anyone setting up Standing Order, for the first time and we encourage everyone to contribute that way if they can, and anyone who wishes to increase their regular contribution on or after Thursday September 8th.
PLEASE NOTE: It is important you submit the correct version of the form, and date it from September 8th 2022 or later. All payments into the two accounts up to, and including, Wednesday 7th September will be processed as now, and go into the separate accounts.
We would urge anyone who pays income tax to Gift Aid their offering. It costs the donor nothing, but increases their offering by 25%. We attach a Gift Aid Form.
We need anyone who can to review their current giving, and to increase what they give if their personal circumstances currently allow and they have not reviewed what they give for years. We also appreciate some, in the current circumstances, may feel they must give less. But we hope no-one currently giving, especially by Standing Order, will let their much appreciated and much needed offering lapse
Only Parishioners who currently pay their Offering, to God for the work of his Church, into the existing Current Account for St Augustine RCP, and new donors in either of the existing Parishes, or those in St Marys who wish to increase their Standing Order, need to fill in a new Standing Order Form.
There is a specific one for existing Donors in St A W Parish, but new donors and those who wish to increase there offering need to use the other version attached with this
NO ONE WHO HAS ALREADY SIGNED A GIFT AID FORM HAS TO SUBMIT A NEW ONE.
The Gift Aid commitment is made with the Charitable Trust (which is The Nottingham Roman Catholic Diocesan Trust), and any offerings to anything other than a direct offering to the central Trust, or one of the funds listed on the Gift Aid Form, must be recorded in the documentation/Financial Return of the individual Parish. Both Churches will be “Parish Churches, but there is only ONE Parish. Thus, all future collections/fundraising in the Parish of St Mary and St Augustine Webster will be recorded centrally by the Parish and not the individual Church. (However, one exception is this is that any loose collection, that is not paid to the Parish by Standing Order or in a Planned Giving Envelope will be recorded under the heading of the specific Church, but banked by the one Parish. There are reasons why this is so, and essentially it will be financially beneficial to the Parish as a whole.
Parishioners of the existing Parish of St Augustine Webster who pay by Standing Order are asked to submit a new Standing Order to begin on September 8th 2022 or soon thereafter. The existing account will be closed on Wednesday 7th September.
We again thank you for the generous financial/material support you give to God and for the work of his Church through our two Churches. It is much appreciated and needed.
We appreciate that the cost-of-living crisis affects everyone, but that includes the Universal Church, and the Parishes, which are as the Church says are a microcosm of the One, Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church.
With earnestness, and sincerity, we ask you to consider, even now, if you have not reviewed your offering to God, and for the work of his Church, for some you seriously consider if you can increase your giving at this time. We realise however that whatever decision you make must take fully into account your personal circumstances.
Your contribution to the life of The Church, and our Parishes, and your witness to The Good News of Jesus, your works of love and charity, voluntary work with the Parish, and your material giving are much valued and appreciated, but prayer and the celebration of The Sacraments, and your visible and physical presence, and communion with God and your brothers and sisters in Christ in YOUR Parish Church is much needed.
Let us pray each day for each other, and for union, communion and oneness within a Parish Community with two Churches.
Thank You once again.
May the one eternal God continue to provide us all with powerful signs of his love and presence, and bestow on us many blessings.
