The 2023 Synod

WE RECOMMEND YOU READ THE DOCUMENTS ONLINE, AND ONLY PRINT THEM IF YOU FEEL YOU NEED TO,

Our Diocese has put emphasis firstly on The Parish, then The Deanery and finally The Diocese – each a part of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.

We  give a “timetable” which will be our guide in the process for this year.

One thing that was mentioned at the first Synod Meeting on 3rd November, in Brigg, was sharing a questionnaire with people unable to attend the Meetings. This was sent out on the 4th November – as it arrived in a timely fashion – but we give the details below:

Synod Online form – For those unable to join our parish meetings you can submit your responses to the parish questions online by visiting www.dioceseofnottingham.uk/synod2023 and clicking on ‘HAVE YOUR SAY’. The information submitted will feed into our own parish reflections. This form can also be used by those on the margins of the Church or who are not a Catholic. We are being invited to ask those furthest away from our community to be involved so I encourage you to share this with friends and family. Scan the QR code to go directly to the form.

The Diocesan Questionaire

The Synod of Bishops 2023. The Preparatory work: In our Diocese the discussion first takes place within Parishes. To uphold the integrity of the process, people who normally attend Sunday Mass outside their geographical Parish, or Diocese, and contribute financially to that Parish and Diocese, should attend the meetings arranged in that place (The Diocesan Documentation relating to The Synod was sent out as an attachment with The Bulletin, and is published on our official Facebook pages, and our Joint Parish Website – see above.

Our next meetings will be held on Tuesday 23rd at 6.30 p.m. in BARTON, and Wednesday 24th at 7.00 p.m. in BRIGG.
